General Description of the GOAL South Sudan Primary Health Care Programme
GOAL South Sudan implements a fully comprehensive Primary Health Care Programme in Warrap State, Upper Nile State and Southern Blue Nile State in South Sudan. Programme activities include the provision of essential drugs, curative care for common diseases, EPI, mother and child health, reproductive health care, nutrition and growth monitoring, control of endemic diseases, community health education, water and sanitation and health care training.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Logistician
Stock management and delivery scheduling with Juba, Nairobi and Loki based logistical teams.
Monitoring security and emergency equipment in assigned locations ensuring all items are functional and complete.
The maintenance of expat compound, medical clinics and airstrip plus any other structures indicated by the Field Supervisor in conjunction with relevant authorities.
Liaison with local community leaders and village health committees on community participation in the maintenance and development of clinics.
Ordering non-medical stock for the programme and keeping accurate records in location.
Oversee local staff and contract workers under the scope of the logistics function when working for GOAL.
Ensuring the maintenance and operation of the communication equipment in the field is properly functioning at all times
Any other reasonable duties as GOAL requests.

Essential Requirements
2 years experience of logistics operations with an International NGO.
Knowledge of office systems including computer skills (Ms Word and Excel)
Strong planning and multi-tasking skills and attention to details.
Proven ability in relating to national staff and government authorities.

Job responsibilities:
Work intensively with the 15 Key Mobilizers: making visits on at least a quarterly basis to provide the additional training they need, share resources and provide consultation
Assist and support Key Mobilizers in providing/organizing training
Monitoring the progress/process of program implementation where workshops have been held; sharing resources and consultation
Provide basic trauma counselling and referral of serious cases
Organize and lead seminars and workshops in coordination with Yei staff
Liaise with schools, women, youth, medical and business people as well as churches to give information and provide seminars
Provide monthly reports of their activities to the Yei-based staff they are assigned to work under
Keep accurate accounts of funds and provide reporting of funds in accordance with RECONCILE financial policies and procedures

3. Position: Health Supply Chain Specialist (Ref No. 2007/13)
Location: Nairobi with frequent travel to the fieldReports to: Senior Health Supply Chain Specialist
Purpose: To provide technical and in-kind support to local partners for implementation of quality HIV care and treatment services.
Scope of responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage logistics involved in supply chain management of ARVs, laboratory reagents and drugs for opportunistic infections.
Conduct training of AIDSRelief partners including Local Partner Treatment Facilities on forecasting drug needs, procurement, tracking inventory and monitoring pharmaceuticals and other health supplies locally.
Ensure logistical management systems for management of ARVs, OI drugs and reagents are harmonized with existing Kenya national infrastructure.
Collect, synthesize and transmit data & information related to ARVs and other related health supplies utilized at the LPTF as an input into forecasting program future needs.
Work to develop, strengthen and integrate ARVs supply systems with LPTF overall pharmaceutical management systems.
Maintain documentation of all work and decision-making processes under AIDSRelief’s health supply chain management portfolio for assigned region.
Specific Qualifications:
A Degree in Pharmacy and valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons board to practice in Kenya.
Good understanding of the health systems in Kenya.
Have solid working knowledge of ART in Kenya. Experience in managing ART commodities logistics will be an added advantage.
2-3 years experience managing a busy ART Pharmacy in a public or mission health facility.
Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
Excellent written, oral communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs).
