International Partnership Development Coordinator – Americas Region
Salary – Depending on Experience

ActionAid International USA is presently seeking an International Partnership Development Coordinator for the Americas region. ActionAid is a large global anti-poverty agency, working with world's poorest people in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
ActionAid International works in partnership with governments, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), across the world, with Country Programs aimed at fighting poverty, injustice and exclusion as well as supporting poor and excluded people in the struggle to demand and claim their rights. ActionAid’s work is focused around six core thematic areas:
Women’s Rights,
The Rights to Education
The Right to Food
The Right to Just and Democratic Governance,
The Right to Human Security in Conflict and Emergencies
The Right to Life and Dignity in the face of HIV and AIDS.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting country programs in developing funding proposals and reports
Coordinating efforts to develop a relationship with the United Nations and other bi- and multi-lateral funders
Working with Action Aid’s women's rights and food security programs to develop funding proposals and reports
Helping implement an engagement strategy with major foundations
Qualified candidates must possess:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the development sector is essential, including knowledge of foundations, with proven ability to develop and maintain effective working partnerships with them.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills will be necessary to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Fluent written and oral English, plus working knowledge of Spanish highly desirable

The following positions are based in Wau (South Sudan), reporting to the Country Manager:
LIVELIHOODS PROGRAMME MANAGER (Ref: 211/06-07)
Profile required:
Local person or with a deep knowledge of Sudan
University degree, preferably in Agriculture, Agroforestry, Agricultural Extension, Rural development, Pastoralist Groups, Rural Economy or any related field.
Three years experience in international cooperation (development or humanitarian), two of which in a coordinating position.
Specific experience in educational management, technical/organisational capacity building and training of trainers will be a plus. Proven ability to make complex technical information accessible and useable by people with basic educational background.
Working experience with local counterparts, local and/or international NGO, etc.
Experience and knowledge of formulation, following and evaluation of cooperation projects and programmes with vulnerable communities.
Proficiency in written and spoken English. Sudanese Arabic and other languages of Sudan will be an advantage.
Computer skills (Office, Internet, E-mail)

3. HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMME MANAGER (Ref: 219/06-07)
Profile required:
University degree, preferably in topics related to humanitarian aid.
Three years experience in a similar humanitarian position, two of which in a management role.
Working experience with local counterparts, local and/or international NGO, etc.
Experience and knowledge of formulation, follow-up and evaluation of humanitarian projects/programmes with vulnerable communities.
Knowledge of the socio-political context of Southern Sudan, or eventually Eastern and Central African context, will be advantageous.
Team working and multicultural team coordination experience.
Proven ability to run proposals with a results-oriented approach and decision making.
Ability to work under pressure
Knowledge and attention to gender aspects within humanitarian programmes
Planning, management and organisation skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken English; Sudanese Arabic will be an advantage
Computer skills (MS Office, Internet, E-mail)
Driving licence, availability to travel and readiness to work in isolated environments.
Sudanese citizenship (desirable).

Position: REGIONAL LOGISTICIAN COORDINATOR
Line Manager: Country Director
Location: Kenya (Nairobi) with frequent travel to South Somalia, South Sudan and North Kenya. (50% field visits).
Starting date: ASAP
Status: Salaried
Duration of the contract: 12 months
Solidarités is an international humanitarian aid organisation which provides assistance to populations who are victims of armed conflict or natural disaster. For 26 years, Solidarités has concentrated its action on meeting three vital needs: water, food and shelter. By carrying out emergency programmes, Solidarités acquired experience end expertise in the fields of access to drinking water and sanitation.
In Horn Africa, Solidarites is currently implementing food security, water and sanitation project in Kenya, South Somalia and South Sudan. We currently have some project in North Kenya (Amrsabit district), South Somalia (Bardera, Dobley) and South Sudan (Malakal).
FONCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Environment analysis
a) To spot the different political, administrative and technical partners
b) To spot monetary tracks, local ways of procuring, distribution systems
c) To spot and assess the impact of social organisation (ethnics..), behaviours and customs, and of the different cultural expressions (religious, community groups, official language minority language)
Purchases
a) To identify potential providers at Kenya and Somalia levels
b) To collect and check BCI/IOF (Internal Order Form) editing by the Logistician and or Program Manager
c) To coordinate supply request from all bases
d) To quote and negotiate all items requested
e) To respect Solidarités/Donors Procedures
f) To check quality and conformity of the items purchased
g) To insure proper follow up of the transport of items toward the field destination (time, contract, warranty…)
h) To write and update services contracts (Fuel, delivery of bricks, sand…) as well as tenders if needed
Logistics staff Management
a) To supervise, advise and coordinate the Logistics expatriate staff for Kenya and Somalia missions
b) To help and support the expatriates logisticians on the field in terms of set up and procedures
c) To ensure staff evaluations and to organise and manage staff training as requested
d) To analyse the needs in terms of Logistics staff as well as support from HQ
e) To update job descriptions as needed
f) To organise, interview and recruit Logistics staff in Nairobi
Vehicles Fleet Management
a) To coordinate and anticipate the vehicles needs in Nairobi
b) To manage drivers in Nairobi
c) To ensure the follow up of the fuel, spare parts and regular technical check-up in Nairobi
d) To ensure proper utilization of vehicle according to Solidarites/donors regulations
Stock Management
a) To ensure that field Logisticians understand and respect storage rules and regulations
b) To be in charge of collecting and compiling the monthly stock inventories for Kenya and Somalia’s bases at the end of each month.
c) To be in charge of sending the compiled monthly stock inventory to HQ before 10th of month+1.
Supply
a) To plan and anticipate the deliveries from Paris/Nairobi to the field in collaboration with the field logisticians.
b) To insure that all supply request are clear before any order or quotation.
c) To be the warrant of the procedures’ respect (IOF/Quotations/Tender/Waybills).
d) To be in charge of collecting and compiling the monthly fuel consumption for all vehicles (rented and purchased) of Kenya and Somalia’s bases at the end of each month.
e) To be in charge of sending the compiled monthly fuel consumption to HQ before 10th of month+1.
Follow up of the durable equipments
a) To make and update on a daily basis the durable equipments list for Nairobi’s base.
b) To edit Identification Card for each equipment present in the durable equipments list.
c) To train expatriates/local staff for sensitive equipments such as Thuraya, HF, VHF, RBgan…
d) To be in charge of collecting and compiling the monthly durable equipments inventories for Kenya and Somalia’s bases at the end of each month.
e) To be in charge of sending the compiled monthly durable equipments inventory to HQ before 10th of month+1.
Computer Management
a) To follow up of the proper use of laptops/desktops at the mission level.
b) To ensure the proper use of Antivirus and the daily maintenance
c) To ensure the safety of electronic data
Security
The Logistics Coordinator is in charge of the daily security at the regional level. The main issues (evacuation, hibernation, movement of staff and stuff…) are discussed jointly with the Head of Mission.
PROFIL
EDUCATION
- Bac+2-Bac+5 (or equiv) Logistics/Technology/Management.
- Bioforce LSI
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience of work in unsecured context
- Experience of logistics in NGO requested (2 years)
- Experience as Logistic Coordinator is a plus.
- Experience of cross cultural environment
- Experience of team management
- Previous experience with Solidarites is a plus (knowledge of standards and systems)
SKILLS
1. Essential:
- Skills in team management
- Ability to work in unsecure environment (Somalia)
- Ability to assess a level of security/insecurity, to develop network and to prepare evacuation
- Knowledge of mechanics, Radio Communication, Satellite communication means.
- Rigour and seriousness (will have to be warrant of the respect of all procedures)
- Driving licence required
LANGUAGES:
- English, oral and written
- French not required but is a plus since the rest of the team will be mainly French
- Swahili and Somali are the local languages. Knowledge of them is a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Word, Excel, Internet
- Computer maintenance (to format/reinstall computer, antivirus check up, etc.)
- Network set up
