1. M-PESA Agent Administrator
RF: PS-JUL07-MPESAAA
Reporting to the M-PESA Agent Manager, the M-PESA Agent Administrator will provide support to
the M-PESA Agent channel by providing administrative support in handling agent issues related to
recruitment, float management, commission’s payments and agent’s availability.
Key Responsibilities:
􀂃 Provide administrative support in recruiting all Safaricom dealers as standard M-PESA agents.
􀂃 Take over administration of new agents and outlets from the Business Development Team
􀂃 Monitor e-money and cash float
􀂃 Attend to agent queries through the phone, walk in queries or email.
􀂃 Communicate monthly registration targets to each agent and performance against previous target
􀂃 Preparation of weekly , monthly and quarterly agent reports
Minimum Requirements:
􀂃 The ideal candidate will be a holder of a degree in sales and marketing from a recognized
university with 2 years experience in sales focusing on sales management/ administration.
􀂃 You will be a proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
􀂃 You will be attentive to detail and have excellent planning and organization skills.
􀂃 You will be results and performance oriented and able to achieve targets assigned.
􀂃 You will be proactive, confident, and energetic with the ability to work under pressure, to tight

2.SENIOR BILLING DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR – BTS_SBDBA_JUL07
Within the Billing & Technical Support department, the position of Senior Billing
Database Administrator, is responsible for administering billing database e.g.
Informix, Oracle, MS SQL databases.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1st & 2nd line support for all billing database related problems
• Conduct backup & recovery management for the billing databases
• Ensure billing data is archived and recoverable over a 5 year period
• Conduct installation, upgrades, patching and configuration of billing databases
• Perform performance tuning of the production databases
• Ensure data / application availability and efficiency monitoring
• Conduct capacity planning for all billing production databases (e.g. Oracle, MS
SQL, Informix)
• Ensure proper documentations
• Conduct database security, vulnerability assessments as well as logical access
control
Minimum Requirement
• University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Electrical &
Electronics Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering
• 4 years work experience in managing databases of 10+ million records
• Have certification in OCP DBA, SQL Server administration (MCDBA), Informix
Dynamic Server
• Excellent analytical skills and detail orientated
• Good communication and Interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and understand new processes / system enhancements quickly

3.SENIOR BILLING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – BTS_SBSA_JUL07
Within the Billing & Technical Support department, the position of Senior Billing
Systems Administrator, is responsible for system support, monitoring &
administration of billing servers (both Windows & Unix based servers);
Key Responsibilities
• Perform administration, configuration and troubleshooting of servers based on
Microsoft Windows and Unix (AIX, Linux, HP-UX, SCO and Sun Solaris);
Respond, offer resolutions and escalations of server issues.
• Analyse server hardware and software vendors and internal systems owners to
fine tune systems hardware and software for all systems.
• Liaise with users, hardware and software vendors and internal systems owners to
fine tune systems hardware and software for all systems
• Ensure the operations of backup tools and testing of disk and data recovery
solutions on all business systems;
• Ensure prompt restoration of any lost data for the business.
• Maintenance of systems documentation and procedures
• Provide technical support for assigned company initiatives and projects
• Participate in feasibility studies and testing for new billing infrastructure
components
• Ensure system security, vulnerability assessments and logical access controls
are carried out
Minimum Requirement
• University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Electrical &
Electronics Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering
• 4 years work experience in administering enterprise systems
• Have certification in UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux) MSCE for Windows
platforms
• Knowledge of TCP / IP Networking, Database management is essential
• Knowledge of administering storage devices – SAN, DAS, NAS key
• Must have strong Unix skills
• Experience in network administration in a multifaceted business environment with
integrated / mixed windows and enterprise UNIX server environment
• Experience in application of performance tuning – administering and optimizing
databases
• Excellent analytical skills and detail orientated
• Good communication and Interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and understand new processes / system enhancement quickly

4.M-PESA Operations Officer
RF: PS-JUL07-MPESAOO
Reporting to the M-PESA Operations Manager, the M-PESA Operations Officer will be responsible for
preparing and facilitating M-PESA training and educating customers on the M-PESA product.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training programs for M-PESA agents, Head offices, Top Image and internal staff including the preparation of training materials.
  • Coordinate training logistics e.g. venue booking and confirmation, equipment booking and delivery
  • Implement and participate in consumer education/PR events aimed at increasing market penetration and customer usage such as road shows
  • Create new agent outlets and additional agent tills on the M-PESA system.
  • Delivery of high quality customer service through receiving and executing escalated queries from 1st line customer contacts.

Minimum Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will be a holder of a degree in a business related field from a recognized
  • university with 2 years experience in providing support and /or sales to consumers and business customers.
  • You will be proficient in training and development facilitation and have good evaluation skills.
  • You will be able to make decisions regarding new and effective ways to manage tasks assigned and escalating critical issues to the M-PESA Manager.
  • You will be able to cooperate and liaise with internal and external customers and be able to manage their expectations.

5.M-PESA Marketing Manager
RF: PS-JUL07-MPEAMM
Reporting to the Head of M-PESA, the M-PESA Marketing Manager will be responsible for growing
customer registrations and M-PESA revenue through effective market communication to agreed
strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
􀂃 Deliver M-PESA revenue, customer numbers and usage key performance indicators as per the
predetermined forecast.
􀂃 Deliver M-PESA marketing activities as per agreed guidelines.
􀂃 Act as M-PESA product champion to support the approval, budgeting and prioritization of MPESA
initiatives and concepts while effectively managing the product portfolio to respond to
market opportunities and competitive pressures.
􀂃 Drive M-PESA research through identifying needs, co-ordinating research activities and providing
analysis.
􀂃 Deliver suitable branding for M-PESA outlets and recruitment activities.
􀂃 Forecasting of sales and revenue targets based on identification of trends and insights.
􀂃 Preparation of weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports to address specific issues, providing value-add
analysis and insights.
Minimum Requirements:
􀂃 The ideal candidate will be a holder of a degree in sales and marketing from a recognized
university with at least 5 years hands on experience in brand marketing. You must
possess a strategic focus i.e. must work effectively with teams of top level management.
􀂃 You will be a self confident individual with strong influencing, negotiation and
presentation skills.
