OVERALL DESCRIPTION
General Description of the Program
GOAL first started working in South Sudan in the mid 1980, originally through short term emergency intervention.
GOAL South Sudan currently has 3 programme sites Twic County, Warrap, Kurmuk County, Southern Blue Nile and Malakal and Sobat in, Upper Nile State.
At these sites GOAL South Sudan operates public health programmes activities include curative primary health care, based on the management of 28 primary health clinics; preventative health care including HIV/AIDS messaging, malaria control and hygiene promotion; nutrition and food security, water and sanitation engineering and clinic construction/rehabilitation.
General Description of the Role
The Roving Pharmacy/EPI Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the PHC coordinator and the Assistant PHC Coordinator in the overall management of the Pharmacy and the EPI components of the PHC programme. This position demands good essential drugs and EPI knowledge and strong ability, desire and competence to coordinate and teach to the staffs who manage the pharmacies and the EPI programme in health facilities within a rural primary health care setting. The incumbent must have good management and interpersonal skills and ability to record and report accurately. She/he will be in charge of ensuring that the health staff in all areas of operation appropriately store, dispense, report and order essential drugs and vaccines. In the execution of duties it is expected that the role will require extensive travel within South Sudan.
Key Duties
· Ensure that health staff in all facilities maintain accurate stock records, complete appropriate monthly and quarterly drug and vaccines reporting and orders;
· Ensure the pharmacy, medicine and vaccine stores are safe and secure at all times;
· Ensure that health staff in all facilities dispense essential medicines in accordance with diagnostician’s prescription;
· Ensure the correct implementation of the EPI programme in all areas of operation;
·1 Ensure that relevant MOH policies, protocols and guidelines are implemented in the Pharmacy and in the EPI components of the PHC programme;
·2 Make sure that health staff in all facilities respect and implement standard universal precautions;
·3 Assess the training needs of the health staff involved in the Pharmacy and in the EPI components in all areas of operation and address the needs with appropriate inputs;
·4 Support the Assistant PHC coordinator in evaluating the Pharmacy and the EPI components of the PHC programme in all areas of operation;
·5 Ensure effective communication and coordination within the Pharmacy and EPI staffs;
·6 Provides input into PHC programme planning in order to improve the quality of the PHC services provided;
·7 Assist in HIS data collection;
·8 Provide proposals and reports as required;
·9 Travel frequently to all areas of operations to support the PHC teams.
Requirements (Person Specification)
· Qualified health professional
· Pharmaceutical background
· Previous experience in PHC/health/EPI programmes with international organisations/agencies
· Sudanese nationality with previous working experience in Southern Sudan
· Staff management experience and good inter-personnel skills
· Fluent in spoken and written English
· IT literate
· Report/proposal writing skills
· Very enthusiastic and keen to travel and work extra hours to achieve the objectives of the programme

The incumbent must have good management, interpersonal and analytical skills and ability to report accurately. In the execution of duties it is expected that the role will require extensive travel within South Sudan.
Key Duties
· Support the Training Officers in all areas of operation with the necessary inputs;
· Ensure the appropriate implementation of the 9 month CHWs training in all its aspects in all areas of operation;
· Ensure that the training needs of the health staff are assessed and addressed with appropriate inputs by the Training Officers;
·1 Ensure that the relevant MOH training curricula and materials are used;
·2 Update/design standard training curriculum and material as required;
·3 Support the Assistant PHC coordinator in evaluating the training component of the PHC programme in all areas of operation;
·4 Ensure effective communication and coordination with Assistant AHM, Assistant PHC Coordinator and Training Officer;
·5 Ensure correct training needs and implementation reporting from all areas of operation;

In coordination with the midwife already working in the area, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination, management and implementation of the Maternal & Child Health (MCH) components of the PHC programme, including all aspects of RH and STI management, in the PHCCs and PHCUs in Twic County. This position demands excellent MCH knowledge and strong ability, desire and competence to cooperate with and teach to the community staff involved in maternal and child health. In the execution of duties it is expected that the role will require extensive travel within Twic County.
Key Duties
· Coordinate, manage and implement the MCH component in the PHCCs and PHCUs in Twic County;
·1 Ensure that relevant MCH MOH policies, protocols and guidelines are implemented;
·2 Work in partnership with the local counterpart involved in MCH (community midwives/TBAs); develop their skills to improve their practice; develop their reporting skills; assess their training needs and address the needs with appropriate inputs.
·3 Effectively communicate and coordinate with the MCH staffs;
·4 Provides input into PHC programme planning in order to improve the quality of the MCH services provided;
·5 Liaise with the field teams to integrate MCH services into the PHC programme;
·6 Give inputs and implement strategies to sensitize women to access MCH services;
·7 Identify women’s groups in the community and plan intervention strategies to initiate through them;
·8 Provide MCH reporting - HIS data collection;

1. Receives refugees and migrants during reception hours, performs booking interviews as necessary.
2. Makes airline bookings for migrants in accordance with the procedures.
3. Verifies migrant documents/identities as necessary.
4. Serves as a focal point for Canadian Resettlement Program.
