IRC’s engagement in Sudan is determined by the aim of assisting the Sudanese people to respond to basic needs, lay the foundation for peaceful recovery, and support the revitalization process.

IRC has been working in Sudan since 1981 with projects implemented from Khartoum and, since 1989, Nairobi. Working in 11 provinces (inclusive of both programs) with 16 operational field sites, IRC is currently administering 54 grants totaling more than $37 million from a variety of international, government, and private donors.
